Alpha Introduces New Wet/Dry Stone Cutter

Posted on 01 December 2021 by cradmin4

Alpha Professional Tools has introduced a new electric wet/dry stone cutter, the ESC-150. The cutter comes equipped with a powerful motor capable of cutting 1-1/4-in. stone slabs in one pass. In addition, the ESC-150 offers portability so that any stone fabricator can use it without the time-consuming setup.

The ESC-150 is also great for sink-hole cutting and groove-cutting for rodding applications. It includes a kink-free water hose for improved maneuverability of the stone cutter. The flexibility of the hose helps reduce operator fatigue and improves the operation. The Alpha ESC-150 is also dustless when connected to a HEPA vacuum, thanks to a built-in dust gate.

According to the company the ESC-150 can utilize a variety of consumables including the Alpha Katana 6-in. for porcelain panels and slabs, Hot-Rod 4-in. for 1/4-in. steel rods and 1/8-in. fiber glass rods. For marble applications, a Libero 5-in. blade is recommended since most marble slabs are 3/4-in. thick or less.

Alpha offers a carriage assembly that fits on the Alpha Guide Rail System to support the application of making precise miter cuts. Alpha has also created two new kits for use with the ESC-150. The first is a Miter Cutting Kit which allows fabricators to make mitered cuts for a waterfall edge. This kit comes with dual carriages, blades and a set of guide rails to fit any size job. The second kit is a simple cutting system to trim countertops quickly. It comes with a carriage assembly, as well as a blade and guide rail to provide accuracy.

Crossville Introduces New Porcelain Panel Collection

Posted on 03 November 2021 by cradmin4

Crossville has introduced a new porcelain panel collection inspired by the Italian slate Pietra di Lavagna. Ardesia a Spacco offers a truly unique aesthetic in two contrasting hues; Bianco and Nero.

Ardesia a Spacco’s compact, high-definition surface recreates the structural depth of split-gauged stone. According to the company this extremely technical, through-body porcelain is able to deliver a natural appearance in a generous size format that’s wider than traditional porcelain panels (1200mm x 3000mm). The, textured material delivers chic styling in a 5.6mm thick porcelain that varies up to 1.5mm in thickness to realistically mimic natural slate’s dimensional appearance. Mesh backing is added to this large panel for enhanced strength and durability.

Weha Introduces Large Heavy Duty Shop Cart

Posted on 27 July 2021 by cradmin4

The new Weha Large Fabrication Shop Cart was made specifically for large and fragile stone fabrication. As stones get larger, more than 10-ft. and taller up to 80-in., those oversized slabs need a larger cart than the traditional dry wall shop carts.

According to the company this new cart is suitable for all shop needs including marble, granite, quartz, quartzite, onyx, porcelain, sintered stone and more.

The cart is manufactured with 1 1/2-in. diameter pipe with three bolted support bars to handle the weight of the stone. The surface deck is 53-in. long by 16-in. deep and the surface deck also comes with a white rubber mat. Between the support bars next to the surface deck, there is a space of 10-in. for additional storage. This will allow for keeping the entire job, or two, on one shop cart throughout the fabrication process.

For any size island or full slab, it will ride safe with very little stress hanging above. The 2 swivel wheels with locks and 2 fixed wheels are 6-in. diameter and are built to safely hold 2640 lbs.

Additionally, the Weha Large Shop Cart comes with a plastic storage bin for a tape measure, pens, markers, etc. to keep with the cart.

Bedrosians Introduces Magnifica Collection

Posted on 10 January 2020 by cradmin

Bedrosians Tile & Stone has recently introduced its Magnifica porcelain collection of countertops, which now offers 2cm porcelain slabs and is made in the USA.

“This is the most durable, cross-functional, and beautiful countertop solution we’ve offered yet,” said Alicia Bedrosian, Magnifica porcelain product manager. “I’ve been in the tile and stone industry my entire life and I can hardly tell the difference between natural stone and Magnifica Porcelain panels. At Bedrosians, we believe Magnifica is the future of porcelain.”

Magnifica is large format porcelain, offered in sizes as large as 60” x 127” and as small as 30” x 15” with thicknesses ranging from 2cm to 8mm and 6mm. The company said the organic looks are created by taking real stone slabs, scanning them and replicating them on porcelain panels.

According to the company, it’s a solid surface that’s shock-proof, heat-proof, acid-proof and spill-proof. Magnifica porcelain is also reportedly low maintenance and easy to clean.

Magnifica porcelain delivers colors and veining straight from the quarry, capturing the realism of marbles, volcanic basalt, industrial concrete and solid looks. The collection includes 14 colors and three finishes in 127” x 60” x 2cm.
