Daltile Launches New Quartz Slab Designs

Posted on 18 January 2021 by cradmin

Daltile has launched two new designs into its ONE Quartz National Marble Series. These new colors are Made in the USA with imported materials in Dal-Tile Corporation’s quartz plant in Dickson, Tenn. The newly launched products are available nationwide.

“These two new exquisite marble designs, Statuary Unity and Statuary Glory, offer beautiful wide veining against modern white backgrounds, with Glory’s background just a hint warmer than Unity’s,” said Roy Viana, director of natural stone and slab for Dal-Tile Corporation. “The veining in these two designs features smooth, flowing movements with clean edges, lending a sophisticated elegance to the overall visuals.”

According to Viana, Statuary Unity and Statuary Glory exemplify how quartz combines the beauty of marble with product performance. These quartz slabs are non-porous, scratch- and stain-resistant, and can be used on walls and countertops.

Statuary Unity and Statuary Glory are extra-large quartz slabs (136 by 79) and are available in 2cm and 3cm sizes. “With interior designers and consumers wanting countertops and walls to be as free of seams as possible, and with the increasing popularity of larger kitchen islands, these extra-large quartz slabs are a perfect format size to meet today’s design needs,” Viana added.

According to the company the quartz produced in Dal-Tile’s Dickson facility is made using proprietary design technologies, the most advanced decorative capabilities, the highest levels of gloss and clarity and exclusive colors and designs.

Natural Stone Institute Completes 25th Home with Gary Sinise Foundation

Posted on 26 December 2019 by cradmin

The Natural Stone Institute, in collaboration with the Gary Sinise Foundation’s R.I.S.E. program (Restoring Independence Supporting Empowerment), has recently provided natural stone and fabrication services for two more homes. The R.I.S.E. program builds specially adapted smart homes for severely wounded veterans and first responders. To date, Natural Stone Institute members have been involved in 25 completed homes.

Natural stone and fabrication services for US Marine Corps Staff Sergeant Jesse Cottle and his family in Idaho were provided by Arizona Tile, Daltile, Salado, and Valley View Granite.

Jesse Cottle joined the US Marine Corps in 2003. On July 19, 2009, during his fourth deployment, Jesse and his Explosive Ordnance Disposal team were on foot patrol clearing improvised explosive devises in Helmand Province, Afghanistan. An IED detonated under Jesse, blasting him into the air. After being sent to the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Jesse underwent seven surgeries on both legs. He was then sent to Naval Medical Center San Diego for outpatient care, where he met Kelly, the woman who would soon be his wife. The couple has two young daughters: Grace and Isla.

Natural stone and fabrication services for US Army Sergeant Stefan LeRoy and his family in Florida were provided by Real Stone & Granite Corporation.

Stefan LeRoy enlisted in the Army in 2010. On June 7, 2012, while deployed in Afghanistan, two IEDs detonated and Stefan rushed to aid those injured by the blasts. While carrying an injured soldier to a Medevac helicopter, Stefan was struck by a third explosion. He lost both of his legs immediately. Stefan was transported to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, where he spent over a month in the hospital. He spent two years learning to adapt to his prosthetics, drawing strength from his friends and other amputees at the hospital. Sixteen months after his last surgery in September 2014, he ran the Boston Marathon.

Since 2016, 59 Natural Stone Institute members have donated their time, products and services to this cause. A list of all donors can be found at www.naturalstoneinstitute.org/RISE. Stone companies interested in getting involved with future projects are encouraged to contact Pam Hammond at [email protected]

New Trends in Tile Backsplashes

Posted on 13 June 2017 by cradmin

DT_CL75_Fiji DT_CL60_LondonWhen it comes to backsplashes, tile reigns supreme, but the specific patterns, colors and materials used change with the times.Recently, Daltile, one of the leading tile manufacturers in the world, explored the tile backsplash options trending in recent years.

An Assortment of Options

DT_CL64_HollywoodKDT_CL65_StMoritzitchen backsplash tile is available in such a wide assortment of options that it can seem as if there is no end to the configuration, and I’m sure a person could spend the rest of his or her life trying to decide. This is why it is helpful to provide customers a few trending choices that they will be happy with and that will receive praise from family, friends and houseguests.

Four Kitchen Backsplash Recommendations From Daltile

  • Bold and Black – In ultramodern kitchens, a black tile backsplash could be the perfect complement. Try a tile size slightly larger than subway, which can minimize grout lines. If you happen to be working on a farm-style kitchen with natural wood, a black backsplash can add a hint of modernization without going overboard, especially if paired with a shade of gray.
  • Multicolored – Both bold designs needing a match and neutral designs needing a pop of color work well with multicolored tile backsplashes. Do not underestimate how much a brightly colored mosaic can enhance the light and brighten otherwise drab kitchens.
  • Neutral – A neutral-colored backsplash works best when you use accessories and hardware to add a touch of color. Metallic tile is perfect for this design scheme.
  • White, Gray, Green and Yellow – So much can be done with only these four colors. Nothing brightens a kitchen more than a sunny yellow paired with white cabinetry and gray floors. Green also lends a fresh air to neutral kitchens, and there is a wide range of shades from which to choose. It also pairs well with reds and purples.
