Princeton Chemical Holds Join.It Adhesive At Current Rates

Posted on 16 September 2021 by cradmin

While several adhesive suppliers announced multiple price increases over the course of the year, some totaling in excess of 11 percent, Princeton Chemical has refused to raise prices on its Join.It Surfacing Adhesive. Raw material costs have increased, but Princeton Chemical’s unique online ordering system and determination to maintain product in stock and ready to ship within 24 hours, allows the company to avoid passing on costs to users of Join.It Surfacing Adhesives.

“Now is not the time to increase pricing on fabricators, many of whom just came out of crisis mode because of the pandemic,” said Sales and Marketing Manager Kevin Cole. “Our easy-to-use online ordering system at www.PrincetonChemCo.com allows us to keep pricing extremely competitive. Additionally, we have a full inventory that generally ships in less than 24 hours and often with no shipping costs. Signing up on for an account on our website literally takes seconds, and full orders can be made easily in minutes. This streamlined process allows us to avoid increased customer costs, which is especially critical at this time in the industry’s recovery.”

According to the company Join.It is a methacrylate-based adhesive that produces strong, durable bonds for solid surfaces, quartz, granite and other natural stones, ceramic and sintered materials, and a wide range of other surfaces. Princeton Chemical manufactures Join.It in the United States for professional use in seaming countertops, backsplashes, wall panels, integral sinks and bowls, and other on-trend designs to satisfy today’s discriminating consumers.

Continental Cut Stone Certifies to Natural Stone Sustainability Standard

Posted on 13 September 2021 by cradmin4

Continental Cut Stone in Florence, Texas has earned certification to the Natural Stone Sustainability Standard. The company has achieved Gold status for their quarry, which extracts Cordova Cream limestone, Cordova Shell limestone, and Silver status for their fabrication facility.

Rob Teel, President of Continental Cut Stone commented, “It has been a goal of mine to get our companies certified for a number of years. I have been involved with the Natural Stone Council since its inception and believe that stone has a great story to tell. We are proud of our staff, especially Kristin Cannon, for working through the process with the help of Tom Cleveland. Our hope is that others will continue to follow suit and get certified.”

The Natural Stone Sustainability Standard was first published in 2014 by the Natural Stone Council. Ownership of the standard transferred to the Natural Stone Institute in early 2021, marking a significant opportunity to raise awareness about the standard within the design community and helping to position natural stone as a solution for green building goals.

Quarriers and natural stone fabricators can look to this multi-attribute industry standard to identify ways to improve their sustainability efforts. By defining best practices for land reclamation, adaptive reuse, and management of excess materials and waste, the standard ensures that natural stone companies are being good stewards of the land.

National Building Granite Quarries Association Merges with the Natural Stone Institute

Posted on 23 August 2021 by cradmin4

The National Building Granite Quarries Association (NBGQA) has voted to merge with the Natural Stone Institute (NSI) to further advance industry efforts to support quarry advocacy, sustainability, outreach to architects and designers and continued efforts to promote the use of natural stone.

The NBGQA was founded more than a century ago with approximately 12 original member granite companies. Today the membership is comprised of five companies: Coldspring, Dakota Granite, New England Stone, North Carolina Granite and Polycor. All are existing Natural Stone Institute members.

Through this merger, the NSI will acquire ownership of the NBGQA granite specification, as well as resources to further advance quarry safety initiatives, sustainability, natural stone promotion and advocacy. NBGQA financial assets will be earmarked to assist with several initiatives being directed by the newly formed North American Quarry Advocacy Group, which is the first of several industry advocacy groups being formed by the Natural Stone Institute. The NBGQA will remain incorporated for two years as the transition takes shape and work begins on key initiatives through the North American Quarry Advocacy Group.

Natural Stone Institute board president Michael Picco (PICCO Engineering) commented, “We are excited to see this merger occur as it will strengthen the industry’s ability to further advance several key industry initiatives. We’ve been working alongside the NBGQA and its members for several years which makes this merger a natural transition. The quarrying sector will benefit from the initiatives underway.”

ASI Industries Announces Sale of Engineered Stone Division

Posted on 13 August 2021 by cradmin

ASI Industries Limited, an Indian stone mining and quarrying company, announced its intention to sell its engineered stone business to Marudhar Rocks International. The parties have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for defining the main terms agreed upon, which will be used as the basis of a definitive agreement.

The deal has been approved by ASI Industries’ board of directors and is expected to close by March 2022. However, it is still subject to shareholders’ and lenders’ approvals and other statutory and contractual approvals.

As per the MoU, Marudhar Rocks International will also take on the debt of ASI Industries’ engineered stone business. The Tamil Nadu-based granite supplier will also take in all current employees of the business.

ASI Industries said that it will continue with its business of Kotah and other natural stone businesses. Deepak Jatia, CMD of ASI Industries commented, “The transaction was a bittersweet one for ASI as a company. While we were fully focused on developing the Engineered Stone Division as the next segment of growth, the conclusive benefits from the transaction were reason enough to enter into an agreement with Marudhar Rocks. The transaction helps us pare down our debts and become a zero-debt company in the near future. Going forward, we are committed to building on our Kotah stone business, and should there be an opportunity to move into some adjacencies, we will keep the investors informed.”

Architectural Surfaces Group Announces Strategic Rebranding

Posted on 23 July 2021 by cradmin4

Architectural Surfaces Group, an importer and distributor of natural stone, engineered stone and tile for residential and commercial applications, announced the strategic rebranding of its regional brands AG&M, Pental Surfaces and Modul Marble as Architectural Surfaces.

The new name leverages the company’s national presence to provide brand clarity and streamline the customer experience for fabricators, architects and interior designers working in both the residential kitchen and bath and commercial construction industries. Customers now have the clarity and ease of engaging with one brand across the 20-plus U.S. markets Architectural Surfaces serves rather than three brands that varied by region.

With Architectural Surfaces, fabricators and designers will continue to enjoy a deep inventory of globally sourced materials, a robust national distribution network and industry experts who understand the unique needs of their market.

“In consolidating under the Architectural Surfaces brand, we brought together the core elements of each regional brand’s DNA just as we are bringing together our employee and customer base to form a stronger national brand.” says Patrick Dussinger, President of Architectural Surfaces.
