Posted on 13 March 2019 by cradmin

The International Surface Event (TISE): SURFACES | StonExpo/Marmomac |TileExpo took place in Las Vegas this January at the Mandalay Bay. The event experienced another year of power‐house industry attendance, exhibits, product displays and education. Attendees came from 77 countries and from every corner of North America to buy, source, network, and discover what is new, needed, and up‐and‐coming for their businesses.

More than 800 brands, 135 new to the exhibition floor, presented their products in over one million square feet of exhibits, product showrooms, features and education. Each showroom space offered beautiful displays, unique demonstrations, and thousands of products and services for the industry to discover.

TISE exhibiting brands offered products from every aspect of residential and commercial sectors of the flooring, tile, and stone industry including hard goods, soft goods, equipment, tools, supplies and services, and so much more. This year’s market was a discovery for all the senses across the entire exhibit hall.

The benefit of attending live markets is to experience the products first‐hand and to meet directly with the key people who produce them. Exhibiting brands at TISE 2019 ensured the industry could experience their products directly in live demonstrations within their exhibit spaces, as well as, on the Product Demo Stage at The Design + Installation Showcase Hub (The DISH), right on the show floor. MAPEI Corporation and USG offered daily demonstrations each hour covering topics from shower and floor prep to installing floors in a flash.

Many industry veterans attend TISE knowing exactly what they are searching for. Others attend for the first time desiring to see everything the industry has to offer. Both groups leave the event having learned or seen something new and unexpected because the vast TISE market is a place of discovery and inspiration. Iconic brands launch new product lines while new companies move into the marketplace presenting exciting innovation for the industry.

TISE launched a brand‐new education program called CONVERGE at this year’s event. Industry leaders covered the hard‐hitting, on‐point topics such as The 411 on 4:20: Medical Marijuana and the Work Place and What to Expect in Washington DC After the 2018 Elections, technically crucial topics such as Moisture Mitigation Roundtable and The Ways of Water: Critical Considerations for Shower Construction, and design‐centric, forecasting sessions such as Color Vibes: A Journey Through Color and Trends and The Power of 5: The 5 Hottest Trends in Flooring & The 5 Types of People Buying Them. The program was led by experts from inside the industry with conversation by veterans, Jon Namba, Lisbeth Calandrino, and Katie Ford to name a few, as well as experts outside the industry such as Attorney Jeff King and social media specialist Shannon Vogel. Each influencer brought their own unique perspectives and vault of information to provide value to each CONVERGE attendee. Though in its first year, TISE plans to grow, adjust, and improve the program going forward to ensure it meets the education needs of the industry.

Neolith Expands Collection of Surfacing Solutions

Posted on 06 July 2017 by cradmin

TheSize, manufacturer of sintered stone brand Neolith, has expanded its range of premium surfaces. This year, Neolith’s introductions have gone beyond new pattern design, offering new thicknesses, formats and finishes. The new additions, Blanco Carrara, Nero Marquinais, Zaha Stone, Concreate Taupe, Aspen grey and NanoTech Polished are now included in the 56 designs within Neolith’s seven collections.

Blanco Carrara (Classtone Collection)

Blanco Carrara (Classtone Collection)

Inspired by real Carrara marbles from Italy, Blanco Carrara is the result of a meticulous selection process. To realistically portray the likeness of natural marbles and their unpredictability, two versions of Blanco Carrara have been created; one a more subtle portrayal of the veining and the other a prominent, high-contrast version. Blanco Carrara is available in two thicknesses, 6mm and 12mm, and the Polished finish. Blanco Carrara is especially suited for floors, walls, bathroom and kitchen worktops and furniture.

Nero Marquinais

Nero Marquina (Classtone Collection)

Inspired by marble from Spain, Nero Marquina is a testament to the technical expertise present at TheSize. To achieve bright white veining on a pure black backdrop is a task challenging enough on paper, but for a slab, a new technical avenue is entered. For this, TheSize developed an exclusive technique to achieve the stark contrast and distinct fine lines. Available in Polished and Silk finishes and in 6mm and 12mm thicknesses, Nero Marquina is ideal for floors, walls, bathroom and kitchen worktops, as well as furniture.

Zaha Stone (Fusion Collection)

Zaha Stone (Fusion Collection)

Zaha Stone is a contemporary twist on Iranian Gray Stone. The Neolith design incorporates a richer, industrial grey tone, with white veins etched onto the backdrop in contradicting directions. Available in 6mm and 12mm and in a Silk finish, the Persian inspired stone is the statement piece of these new introductions.

Concrete Taupe (Fusion Collection)

Concrete Taupe (Fusion Collection)

Available in 6mm and 12mm sizes and in a silk finish, Concrete Taupe is a neutral décor ideal for a multitude of applications ranging from interior and exterior cladding to furniture.

Aspen Grey (Fusion Collection)

Aspen Grey (Fusion Collection)

Aspen Grey is a dark grey matte inspired by natural Aspen stone. With countless micro elements scattered throughout, the slab offers movement with a sense of ornateness and character. Aligned with the same Neolith Digital Design (NDD) technology used to develop the Pierre Bleue décor, Aspen Grey’s color is present through the entirety of the slab. Available in 6mm and 12mm in soft touch Silk, the company describes it as the ideal slab for creating the illusion of texture in interior and exterior cladding, flooring, kitchen and bathroom worktops, and furniture applications.

Second in a series, NanoTech Polished is the successor of the original Décor Polished – a high gloss finish achieved by layering glass on top of the slab. NanoTech Polished, however, manages to achieve the same glossy finish achieved in Décor Polished, without the need for the additional glass layer. Instead of applying the cover, the slab is directly polished once it comes out of the kiln and by using a special raw material during the sinterization process and a studied polishing technique, a perfectly flat reflection is achieved.

Additionally, the 3mm slab is now available in Calacatta, Estatuario, Pulpis, Strata Argentum, Calacatta Gold, Pierre Bleue, Beton, and Iron Frost. With these additions to the 3mm thickness production line, customers can now specify favorite décors from the Neolith range for furniture cladding or interior walls.
