NBMDA Announces 2022 Board of Directors

The North American Building Material Distribution Association (NBMDA) announced its Board of Directors for 2022 at the 2021 NBMDA Annual Convention. The role of the Board is to govern, establish policy and make strategic decisions about the future of the organization.

Ghines Group Introduces Sysmatic Evo Auto

Ghines Group has introduced its new, small footprint CNC sink cutting machine, the Sysmatic Evo Auto. The machine aims to expedite the lengthy sink cutting process by programming with macros.

According to the company the Sysmatic Evo Auto can drill, cut out in one step, profile bevel on top and bottom and give a polished finish to 20mm Dekton in 18 minutes and 20mm granite in 30 minutes. Additionally, it can cut-out by finger bit, shape and polish edges, finish undermount sink cut outs, drill faucet holes, recess and polish inclined drainer boards, grooves and hones drainer grooves, engraves bas-reliefs and writes letters. The space-saving, open frame means no limits on the length of the slabs being processed.

Natural Stone Institute Announces New Spanish Resource Page

The Natural Stone Institute announced its new webpage that allows easier access to Spanish language translations of safety and membership resources for the stone industry. This new page presents links to free safety resources, including downloadable documents, toolbox talks and course bundles in the Natural Stone University. It also includes links to materials available for purchase, including videos and safety posters that can be displayed in stone showrooms or fabrication facilities. Topics range from general stone industry safety to silicosis prevention, safe slab handling and OSHA compliance.

Gus Mojarro, National Operations Quality Control Manager for Stone Source and Vice-Chair of the Natural Stone Institute Safety Committee shared, “We know that 75 percent of stone industry injuries occur in the first year of employment. This makes it even more important to have these crucial safety resources available not only in English, but in Spanish as well.”

Slab and Material Supplier members will enjoy association benefits including reduced fees for exhibiting and access to preferred space in a dedicated pavilion at StonExpo.

SESA Board President Mike Schlough of Park Industries commented, “Our goal is to make StonExpo the show for fabricators to see equipment, supplies and now all materials that are relevant to their businesses. KBISNeXT Stage Brings Business Insights to KBIS 2022

The National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA), owners of the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS), revealed the programming lineup planned for the NKBA presents KBISNeXT™ Stage. The stage will host more than 20 programs, including four awards events and 60+ leading industry voices and personalities throughout the three-day show, February 8-10, 2022.  

Topics for the 2022 programming grid include how the generational divide is impacting design and lifestyles today, how to integrate diversity and inclusion practices into your business, what’s happening in a healthy home and resilient design, how to manage your business for today’s new realities and more.
