Rockler Expands Line of Dust Right Solutions

Dust Right Vacuum Harness

Rockler Woodworking and Hardware has introduced new dust collection solutions to expand its line of Dust Right products. This wave of solutions includes several products to enhance the performance of existing dust collection setups, providing tighter fitting connections, as well as out-of-the-way pipe installation and hose management accessories.

Rockler’s latest products include:

Dust Right Vacuum Harness
When using a shop vacuum in conjunction with the Dust Right Separator, this harness straps them together so the user can roll them around in tandem without either unit tipping over, and without any of the hoses tangling with each other or dislodging from the fittings.

Schedule 40 Fittings
Thicker and more robust than Schedule 20 plumbing, this thicker piping requires fittings
that are made to accommodate the thicker pipe walls. Rockler has developed two adapters to fit Schedule 40 PVC pipe: one to connect 4-in. dust collection fittings and another to connect 4-in. dust hose.

Dust Right Dust Hose Mounting Bracket
This bracket facilitates attachment of a dust hose to a workbench, roller stand, stationary power tool or other shop fixture.

Dust Right 4-in. Handle Docking Port Kit
This storage solution for the Dust Right 4-in. Quick Change Handle and Expandable Hose consists of two rubber straps that mount to the wall to hold the hose, plus a wall-mounted docking port for the handle.

Dust Right Magnetic Floor Sweep Attachment
This magnetic insert attaches to the Dust Right Floor Sweep to filter out ferrous metal parts before they enter the dust collection system. Suitable to collect dropped screws and fasteners while vacuuming the floor.

Hose Coupler for Dust Right Heavy-Duty Shop Vacuum Hoses
Allows Dust Right Heavy-Duty Shop Vacuum Hoses to be connected end-to-end to create longer lengths of hose.

Rockler Introduces Material Mate

Posted on 28 November 2017 by cradmin

Rockler Woodworking and Hardware has introduced the Material Mate, a rolling metal frame for handling and using sheet goods. Material Mate can function in two modes: as a panel cart and a mobile, adjustable-height shop stand.

In panel cart mode, the metal frame features rack supports on one side capable of hauling 4-ft. by 8-ft. sheets of plywood, sheetrock and other panels to a capacity of 150 lbs. Material Mate can pass through a 30-in. wide doorway, making it easy to transport panels from a vehicle into the shop. To situate a panel for sawing and other work, the rack support is tilted up and locked, bringing the panel to a horizontal position.

To use Material Mate in shop stand mode, users can simply attach their own tabletop to the metal frame and lock it in the horizontal position. With the base rolling on 4-in. casters, two of which can be locked, the table can easily be wheeled to the desired location and then locked firmly in place. The frame then allows adjustment between 31- and 36- in. table heights. Even with a tabletop attached, the frame can be unlocked and tilted down into panel cart mode, since the carrier supports are wide enough to accommodate multiple sheets.

Rockler to Help Fund Planting of More Than 16,000 Trees for Earth Day

Posted on 23 April 2013 by cradmin

Rockler Woodworking and Hardware is continuing its Earth Day partnership with the Hardwood Forestry Fund (HFF) by contributing proceeds to help fund the planting of 16,600 seedlings in two separate tree planting projects for 2013. The first is the Riverdale School Forest located in southwestern Wisconsin and the second is the Raystown Army Corp of Engineers Project in the Raystown Lake region of Pennsylvania. The ongoing partnership between the two organizations helps sustain and renew hardwood forests throughout the United States.

“Our partnership with the Hardwood Forestry Fund helps secure the future of our hardwood forests,” said Scott Ekman, VP of marketing at Rockler. “We’re excited that our efforts will help new generations enjoy the natural beauty as well as the many practical uses that hardwood trees provide throughout their life cycle.”

The Riverdale School Forest is located in southwest Wisconsin. It is one of numerous school forests recognized by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources as a demonstration forest. Demonstration forests are used to demonstrate good forest management to school children and the general public. The Hardwood Forestry Fund with the help of Rockler will plant 10,000 seedlings in the area.

The U.S. Army Corp of Engineers with the help of the Hardwood Forestry Fund and Rockler will be re-planting forest stands in the Raystown Lake region of Pennsylvania. A total of 6,600 seedlings will be planted. Raystown Lake is a high use recreation area which receives more than 25,000 visitors per year. The primary benefits of this project will be assisting natural regeneration of the forest, creating wildlife food and cover, and providing an educational tool for recreation users and educational tour groups.

A not-for-profit, educational organization, the Hardwood Forestry Fund targets planting and management of commercially valuable hardwoods, including black cherry, black walnut, red oak, hard maple, hickory, ash and others. All trees planted by the Hardwood Forestry Fund are included in a management plan, harvest and regeneration schedule.
