Posted on 21 June 2019 by cradmin

An investment subsidiary of Investindustrial VI L.P. has signed a partnership agreement with the current owners of Neolith, Jesus and Jose Luis Esteve. This partnership was initiated to support the next phase of development of the Neolith brand. Although Investindustrial will acquire a majority shareholding in the Company, the Esteve family will retain a relevant minority interest. They will also continue to lead the management team and Chair of the Board of Directors.

Terms of the shareholding purchase were not announced.

Neolith was founded in 2009 with the aim of designing and producing large format sintered surfaces with unique characteristics serving multiple end-markets, including bathrooms, wall claddings, furniture, floorings, facades and with a particular focus on high-end kitchens. The Company’s success and rapid development has benefited from 40 years of experience of the Esteve brothers in the natural stone sector.

Jesus Esteve, Chairman of Neolith, said, “We are delighted to be partnering with Investindustrial as we look to grow the company further in the international markets outside Europe. Given Investindustrial’s background and deep knowledge in the high-end design sector and its global reach, we strongly believe it is the right partner to further support the international expansion of the company while strengthening the management team and reinforcing the product development.”

Investindustrial is a leading European group of independently managed investment, holding and advisory companies with €6.8 billion of raised fund capital, which provides industrial solutions and capital to mid-market companies in Europe. Its mission is to actively contribute to the development of the companies in which it invests, by creating growth opportunities and offering global solutions through an entrepreneurial pan-European vision.

Andrea C. Bonomi, Chairman of the Industrial Advisory Board, commented, “Neolith operates in an industry well-known to Investindustrial due to our prior and current investments in the sector. We are proud to partner with the Esteve family since we believe they have the right entrepreneurial approach and together we can lead Neolith to the second phase of investment, both to increase capacity at their local headquarters and internationally, and product development on a long-term basis.”

Neolith Presents New Colors for 2019

Posted on 05 November 2018 by cradmin

Neolith by TheSize has announced four new models that will be included in the 2019 collection.

New York – New York responds to a revival of interest in beton and concrete for interior applications, particularly worktops. With distinctive grey tones it offers an on-trend, urban style suitable for all surfacing applications. Incorporating a fully body edge is highly realistic, and a surface which blends matte and shine particles to create a pleasing visual effect. Available in 3, 6, 12 and 20 mm. Silk Finish

Mont Blanc is a homage to White Quartzite, one of the most popular stone patterns currently on the market. It has a neutral tone, combining a creamy white background with subtle veining in deep black, oxide and ochre hues. Using a special technique, Neolith was able to create an inward relief exactly where the veins are, delivering an original texture which is pleasing to the touch and evokes the soaring beauty of the alpine landscape. Available in 6 and 12 mm. Silk Finish

Sofia Iron – The semi-polished finish of this stone creates an irregular and burnished effect that gives the surface a more worn look and touch. The surface will be presented with two finishes, “Copper” and “Moss”.  Available in 6, 12 and 20 mm. Shine Silk Finish

Mar del Plata – Inspired by the exotic Dark Pearl granite, a Brazilian stone from TheSize’s Granith collection, this rippled slab incorporates wavy white quartz stripes on a grey backdrop. With a slated stone relief, the slab resembles the fluidity of flowing water. The whiter and lighter grey striations are produced with a special technique which gives texture to the veining. Flecks of shine particle throughout the stone also create a beautiful nacre effect. Available in 6 and 12 mm. Slate Finish

Neolith Expands Global Production

Posted on 20 March 2018 by cradmin

Neolith TheSizeSpain-based company TheSize, manufacturer of Neolith, continues its global expansion with several key initiatives in 2018. Plans for this year include an added production line, showroom openings and a new logistics warehouse. The company plans to enhance support of the brand’s network of distributors, architects, designers and fabricators.

Increases in sales and visibility in commercial and residential projects has prompted the expansion of Neolith’s production capacity. Neolith will start operating a fourth production line during the first quarter of 2018 at its headquarters and manufacturing factory in Castellón, Spain, This additional line, which will manufacture slabs in 3mm and 6mm thicknesses, makes Neolith the only brand to have five kilns exclusively devoted to sintered stone.

Neolith is dedicated to customer accessibility and first-class shopping experiences with distribution locations in more than 80 countries and hundreds of major metro showroom sites. In 2018, the brand will open additional showrooms in key cities around the world, including: Madrid, Spain; Tokyo, Japan; and Ramallah, Palestine; with more locations planned throughout Europe, Latin American and Asia in the coming year.

The 2018 opening of a Neolith logistics warehouse in London, England will improve product accessibility and shipping lead times for European markets. The warehouse’s proximity to shipping ports and to the high concentration of distributors throughout Western Europe provides a logistics advantage. Carrying a centralized stock of Neolith’s most in-demand SKUs, the London warehouse opening is a strategic expansion designed to open up storage space for distributors and result in faster delivery times for projects.

In 2017, Neolith also opened a warehouse in Norfolk, Va. to provide the same logistics benefits to the U.S. market, particularly on the East Coast.

Neolith Expands Collection of Surfacing Solutions

Posted on 06 July 2017 by cradmin

TheSize, manufacturer of sintered stone brand Neolith, has expanded its range of premium surfaces. This year, Neolith’s introductions have gone beyond new pattern design, offering new thicknesses, formats and finishes. The new additions, Blanco Carrara, Nero Marquinais, Zaha Stone, Concreate Taupe, Aspen grey and NanoTech Polished are now included in the 56 designs within Neolith’s seven collections.

Blanco Carrara (Classtone Collection)

Blanco Carrara (Classtone Collection)

Inspired by real Carrara marbles from Italy, Blanco Carrara is the result of a meticulous selection process. To realistically portray the likeness of natural marbles and their unpredictability, two versions of Blanco Carrara have been created; one a more subtle portrayal of the veining and the other a prominent, high-contrast version. Blanco Carrara is available in two thicknesses, 6mm and 12mm, and the Polished finish. Blanco Carrara is especially suited for floors, walls, bathroom and kitchen worktops and furniture.

Nero Marquinais

Nero Marquina (Classtone Collection)

Inspired by marble from Spain, Nero Marquina is a testament to the technical expertise present at TheSize. To achieve bright white veining on a pure black backdrop is a task challenging enough on paper, but for a slab, a new technical avenue is entered. For this, TheSize developed an exclusive technique to achieve the stark contrast and distinct fine lines. Available in Polished and Silk finishes and in 6mm and 12mm thicknesses, Nero Marquina is ideal for floors, walls, bathroom and kitchen worktops, as well as furniture.

Zaha Stone (Fusion Collection)

Zaha Stone (Fusion Collection)

Zaha Stone is a contemporary twist on Iranian Gray Stone. The Neolith design incorporates a richer, industrial grey tone, with white veins etched onto the backdrop in contradicting directions. Available in 6mm and 12mm and in a Silk finish, the Persian inspired stone is the statement piece of these new introductions.

Concrete Taupe (Fusion Collection)

Concrete Taupe (Fusion Collection)

Available in 6mm and 12mm sizes and in a silk finish, Concrete Taupe is a neutral décor ideal for a multitude of applications ranging from interior and exterior cladding to furniture.

Aspen Grey (Fusion Collection)

Aspen Grey (Fusion Collection)

Aspen Grey is a dark grey matte inspired by natural Aspen stone. With countless micro elements scattered throughout, the slab offers movement with a sense of ornateness and character. Aligned with the same Neolith Digital Design (NDD) technology used to develop the Pierre Bleue décor, Aspen Grey’s color is present through the entirety of the slab. Available in 6mm and 12mm in soft touch Silk, the company describes it as the ideal slab for creating the illusion of texture in interior and exterior cladding, flooring, kitchen and bathroom worktops, and furniture applications.

Second in a series, NanoTech Polished is the successor of the original Décor Polished – a high gloss finish achieved by layering glass on top of the slab. NanoTech Polished, however, manages to achieve the same glossy finish achieved in Décor Polished, without the need for the additional glass layer. Instead of applying the cover, the slab is directly polished once it comes out of the kiln and by using a special raw material during the sinterization process and a studied polishing technique, a perfectly flat reflection is achieved.

Additionally, the 3mm slab is now available in Calacatta, Estatuario, Pulpis, Strata Argentum, Calacatta Gold, Pierre Bleue, Beton, and Iron Frost. With these additions to the 3mm thickness production line, customers can now specify favorite décors from the Neolith range for furniture cladding or interior walls.

A Video Look at Fabricating Compact Surfaces

Posted on 23 December 2016 by cradmin

This video, produced and offered by Neolith by TheSize, takes a relatively deep look at fabricating ultra-compact/compact surfaces. It discusses the types of equipment that can be used, as well as the blades and tooling required. This information includes CNC machining, waterjet cutting and even the use of hand tools, addressing both wet and dry cutting. It also touches on adhesive qualities needed for installation (including interior versus exterior applications).

It also explains the cutting speeds (both feed speeds and RPM for blades) allowed for different types of cuts and equipment. It discusses making relief cuts when necessary. Support systems for use when cutting or performing other tasks are also touched upon, as well as material handling methods.

Other areas examined are finishing, polishing, edging, sink cut-outs and mounting, among other things.

Of course, the video is specifically referencing the Neolith compact surface product, but the information should be in the ball park for other materials, although manufacturer recommendations should certainly be followed in all cases.

TheSize to Launch New Additions to Neolith Collections at KBIS 2017

Posted on 04 November 2016 by cradmin

Taj Mahal

Castellón, Spain manufacturer of sintered compact surface brand Neolith, TheSize, plans to expand its range of premium surfaces with new product launches at the 2017 Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS), in Orlando, Fla.

Among the new surfaces being introduced are:

Taj Mahal (Classtone Collection), is representative of the multidimensional Indian Quatzite. With light cream as its backdrop and a combination of clear flakes to emulate the natural crystallization of multiple pink quartz layers, it embodies natural quartzite; to enhance the design further, the fine integration of subtle brown and grey veins add just enough diversity, while still keeping it in the neutral color family. Slabs are in a polished finish and 12mm thickness.

Blanco Carrara (Classtone Collection), has been designed after studying dozens of natural Carrara marbles found in Italy. Two versions will be on offer; one a more subtle portrayal of the veining and the other, a prominent, high-contrast version. Blanco Carrara is available in two thicknesses, 6mm and 12mm, and in two finishes, polished and antique.

Nero Marquina (Classtone Collection), is inspired by marble from Spain and features bright white veining on a pure black backdrop through an exclusive technique to achieve the stark contrast and distinct fine lines. Available in Polished and Silk finishes and in 6mm and 12mm thicknesses.

Zaha Stone (Fusion Collection) offers a contemporary twist on Iranian Gray Stone, incorporating a richer, industrial grey tone, with white veins etched onto the backdrop in contradicting directions. It also pays tribute to the late Zaha Hadid, a true inspiration to the architectural community. Available in 6mm and 12mm and in Antique finish, the Persian inspired stone is the statement piece of these new introductions.

Concrete Taupe (Fusion Collection) differentiates itself from its predecessor Beton with an all over brown wash of color and warmer tone. The décor suggests that a natural rusting has occurred but with the addition of micro flakes to add the slightest sparkle. It is available in 6mm.

Aspen Grey (Fusion Collection) offers a dark grey matte inspired by natural Aspen stone. With countless micro elements scattered throughout, the slab suggests movement with a sense of ornateness and character. Aligned with the same Neolith Digital Design (NDD) technology used to develop its Pierre Bleue décor, Aspen Grey’s color is present through the entirety of the slab. Available in 6mm and 12mm in soft-touch silk.
