Colonial Saw Offers Expanded V-grooving & Coving Capability

Posted on 28 December 2020 by cradmin

Colonial Saw now offers three more STRIEBIG models with expanded capability for V-grooving and coving solid surface material: the Standard S, Evolution, and Control.

STRIEBIG originated V-grooving and coving solid surface on a vertical panel saw in the late ‘90s beginning with their “Optisaw 2” model, and now all of the 7-1/2hp models have that capability.

The newer models have the advantage of a fine adjustment thumbwheel and digital counter built right into the saw head for fast, simple, and very precise depth adjustment of the groove depth.

With the new models, the company states that the capability needs to be ordered at the time of the machine order, and it is not able to be retrofitted to existing machines.  Compact saws are also not available for V-grooving.  Only the Standard model (and older Optisaw 2s) can be retrofitted for V-grooving and coving.

Alpha Professional Tools Introduces ESC-125 Wet/Dry Stone Cutter

Posted on 11 June 2018 by cradmin

Alpha Professional Tools® has re-designed the popular AWS-125 Wet Stone Cutter, and introduced the ESC-125 which was created based on the feedback from fabricators in preparation for the new silica rule change by OSHA in 2017. To reduce the silica particles,  a dust cover was added on the side of the blade guard to redirect the dust from the cutting edge into an attached HEPA vacuum for dry dust removal. The ESC-125 is equipped with a newly designed Water Jet System that delivers sufficient water to cool the cutting edge as well as removes slurry from the cutting line ahead of the stone cutter.

Equipped with the Water Jet is a Hybrid Kink/Memory-Free Water Hose that comes with a quick disconnect garden hose adapter.

The new Clamping System, located on the side of the blade, ensures cutting stability, whether doing a step cut 3cm sink hold cut-out or making a groove for the reinforcement rod with much smaller diameter blades.

WEHA Offers Redesigned Achilli Track Rail Saw System

Posted on 21 May 2015 by cradmin

WEHA Achilli Track Rail Saw SystemWEHA now offers the redesigned Achilli TSA 3 HP Portable Track Rail Saw System for granite, marble, quartz surfacing/engineered stone, quartzite and all other natural stones. Designed for cutting one or two granite or stone countertops per day, the saw is made using the same heavy duty 3 HP motor as the large Achilli ANR Saws. These motors offer a strong torque output, allowing cutting up to 4cm granite. The Track Rail Beam System isn’t a tw0-beam track, but rather uses the same 1/8-in.-thick galvanized steel beam and bearing system that Achilli uses on its full bridge saws. The saw will not deflect, twist, cut out of line during the full length of cut, reports the company. The blade housing that accepts a full 14-in. blade with up to an 18mm height segment. It also offers dual water ports for continuous water on the blade. The saw is suitable for hard surface countertop laminations, and has a full depth adjustment knob that allows plug cuts anywhere needed. If cutting extremely hard material and step cutting is required, it is easy to control the depth of cut during each pass, according to the company. With full rubber lining the length of the rails, once the rail has been placed in the exact spot you want, the rail and saw will not slip or slide out of place during the cut.
