CMA Announces 2020 National Conference Closing Keynote Speaker

Posted on 18 October 2019 by cradmin

The Cabinet Makers Association (CMA) announced that Dominic Rubino will be the closing keynote speaker at the organization’s 2020 national conference, which will be held March 4-6 in St. Charles, Illinois.

A professional speaker, facilitator, author and business coach, Dominic Rubino is dedicated to helping woodworking professionals work less and earn more. Through his blog, articles, podcast, and videos Rubino has been teaching business improvement tricks to shop owners for almost two decades.

To leave the CMA 2020 event attendees with a memorable conference experience, Rubino will close the conference with insights about how business owners need a map to get their company to the destination. That map is a strategic plan that portrays what the company will look like over the next five years. Rubino’s presentation will outline specific steps to help attendees figure out who will do what by when.

Given the year of the event, the theme of the conference is 2020 Vision: A Clear View of the Woodworking Industry.

Rubino’s presentation connects the overall event theme and the associated sight lines of driving a car: looking in the rearview mirror to see where we have been, checking the blind spot to see what’s happening around us, and shifting gears to accelerate forward. After that, according to Rubino, “The rest is just checking the map and making course corrections to get to your destination.” For more information and to register, visit www.cabinetmakers.org/2020.

CMA Seeks Submissions for 2019 Wood Diamond Awards

Posted on 15 March 2019 by cradmin

The Cabinet Makers Association (CMA) announced that the Wood Diamond Awards program is now accepting submissions for the 2019 contest.

The CMA was founded on the principles of sharing one’s experiences and ideas with other members in an effort to promote success and professionalism in the woodworking business. This awards program provides another outlet for that purpose to be fulfilled. As members view the work and accomplishments of their peers, ideas are exchanged and the flow of information continues.

The CMA is asking current members to consider a recent project (or several) that they are especially proud of to enter for a chance to win a Wood Diamond Award. The entry fee is $50 for each submission. No entries will be accepted after May 15, 2019. The winners will be announced July 18, during the association’s Membership Appreciation Banquet at the AWFS Fair in Las Vegas. Access the submission form at www.cabinetmakers.org/wda19.
