Stone Chatter Podcast Launched by 3 Industry Veterans

Stone Chatter, a new voice in the stone countertop industry, has officially launched, bringing an unfiltered and engaging platform to countertop shops, suppliers and industry professionals nationwide. Built to complement the status quo of industry media, the podcast delivers direct, no-nonsense conversations about the realities of running and scaling a stone business. With a focus on entertainment and practical value, Stone Chatter is positioned to be listening for shops that want insight on what’s going on in the industry and how to improve their shop.

Stone Chatter delivers raw, honest conversations with respected industry experts who speak openly about what actually works—and what doesn’t. Each episode is designed to cut through bias, sponsorship influence, and surface-level advice, replacing it with actionable insights and authentic storytelling. The result is a podcast that is as entertaining as it is informative. “Too much of the industry conversation is filtered or sales-driven,” said Rich Katzmann, one of the Founders. “We created Stone Chatter to give shop owners something real—honest discussions with people who’ve actually been in the trenches or are on the cutting edge.”

Example and previously recorded topics include the silicosis ban debate, tariff discussions, new technology in machinery, the quickly evolving materials world, the rapid vertical integration of deep pocket customers like Home Depot, and trade show reviews. “A major differentiator between Stone Chatter and other industry podcasts is our attempt to add levity and humor to the discussion,” said Erik Rapp, a co-founder and host. “But I do have in my contract that I must stay fully clothed for the duration of the taping.”

“We’re not here to push products or polish narratives,” said Ed Young, a co-founder and host. “We’re here to have the conversations that shop owners are already having behind closed doors—and bring them into the open.”

Stone Chatter is available on all major podcast platforms, including Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Amazon Music, and YouTube. New episodes drop every other Wednesday. The show features a rotating format: once a month, the hosts are joined by a panel of topic-specific experts, while the remaining episodes focus on the hosts discussing current events, emerging technologies, and whatever else sparks their interest.
