Spectrum Quartz Announces Plans for South Carolina Production Facility

Spectrum Quartz, part of the Hirsch Glass Corporation, a manufacturer and distributor of quartz and other glass products, announced plans to open its new production operations in Dillon County, SC. The statement released in conjunction with South Carolina’s Commerce Department and the office of Gov. Henry McMaster stated that the company is bringing approximately $22.5 million in capital investment and will be creating more than 150 new jobs.

Established in 2005, Hirsch Glass Corporation designs and manufactures high-quality glass products, including tiles, mosaics and panels. In 2014, Hirsch Glass Corporation launched the Spectrum Quartz product line. Spectrum Quartz manufactures quartz slabs with unique aesthetics by utilizing its patent protected technology. With a variety of customers across the residential, commercial and hospitality industries, Spectrum Quartz features a wide selection of ready-to-use products for both traditional and modern designs around the world.

The company’s new, 360,000-sq. ft. production facility is located on a 42-acre tract of land in Latta, S.C. New operations are projected to come online in the fourth quarter of 2019. The property qualifies as a South Carolina Opportunity Zone. The Coordinating Council for Economic Development has approved job development credits related to this project. A $750,000 Rural Infrastructure Grant was also awarded to Dillon County to assist with costs associated with the project.

The South Carolina facility has been in the planning stages since 2017. Spectrum Quartz currently owns one operational production facility in China and has been producing quartz surfaces since 2014.
