A few months ago, Wilsonart introduced its new Thinscape product, a new material designed to meet emerging trends in the United States, largely originating in Europe, for thin countertops. The composite material is made up of papers and resins to achieve an overall thickness of 1/2 in. This construction allows the slabs to be cut, routed, sanded and fabricated with dry tooling, which includes standard carbide-tipped blades/bits and woodworking tools.
The company released a video showing how to properly fabricate the material.
