Hanwha Surfaces Names Michael Talbot Product Design Manager

Hanwha L&C l Surfaces announced that Michael Talbot has joined the company as Product Design Manager. Talbot is an NCIDQ licensed Interior Designer and LEED Accredited Professional with a diverse background in commercial and residential interiors as well as product design. Holding previous design positions at Beauflor, Restoration Hardware and Shaw Industries, he brings extensive knowledge of design and science of the built environment to his new role.

As Product Design Manager for Hanwha Surfaces, Talbot will be responsible for market trend analysis and recommendations for new product design and development of colors and textures for the company’s portfolio of surfacing solutions, including HanStone Quartz and Hanex Solid Surfaces.

“The opportunity to be part of a driven and determined team that is dedicated to their craft is the reason I am here,” said Talbot. “Good design is all around us, but great design is much more elusive, and I’m excited to be working with a company that’s committed to being known for great design.”

Prior to joining Hanwha Surfaces, Talbot served as a Senior Product Designer for Shaw Industries where he was involved with the launch of several new product collections, which earned Interior Design magazine’s Best of Year Award and the Nightingale Gold Award, respectively. He also held positions as an interior designer with Heery International, Commercial Design Interiors, and Gensler.

Hanwha Adds New Color to HanStone Quartz Boutique Collection

This spring Hanwha Surfaces introduced its Boutique Collection of HanStone Quartz. The Boutique Collection is the first to be created on HanStone Quartz’s second production line featuring Breton Technology. Using robotic arms, the new equipment is able to create soft, deep veining and movement that closely mimics the appearance of natural stone.

HanStone Quartz’s newest color addition to the Boutique Collection, Yorkville, was inspired by luxury designers with flagship stores along the streets of the Toronto neighborhood of Yorkville. As a part of HanStone’s newest line, this hue offers warm cream and subtle grey tones with long wispy veins and movement.

Nonporous, resistant to heat, stains, and scratches, these designs are suitable for use in both residential and commercial applications.

Wilsonart Engineered Surfaces & Hanwha Surfaces Join Forces

Hanwha logoWilsonart Engineered Surfaces and Hanwha L&C Corporation announced a wilsonart logojoint-venture agreement to build a manufacturing facility in Temple, Texas. This facility will support the expansion and growth of the Hanex Solid Surfaces and Wilsonart® Solid Surface product lines. The more-than-125,000 sq. ft., state-of-the-art facility provides both companies with added capacity and onsite product development capabilities to service their respective North American solid surface customers. Production is expected to begin in July of 2018.
As the demand for solid surface products increases in the commercial market, both Hanwha and Wilsonart experienced a need to expand production. Additionally, the new facility gives both brands the ability to maximize product availability, as well as proximity to customers to better serve the solid surface market with locally made products.
“Manufacturing in Temple, Texas, where Wilsonart’s North American business is based, makes perfect sense,” says Andrew Korzen, Vice President, Product Management for Wilsonart® Solid Surface and Wilsonart® Quartz. “It supports our strategy to expand our Engineered Surfaces product platform, and represents a significant commitment to our Solid Surface program.”

Hanex Solid Surfaces Introduces the Stratum Collection

hanex-stratumHanwha Surfaces introduced the Stratum Collection by Hanex Solid Surfaces, the company’s solid surfaces division. The Collection’s six new colors fuse versatility with beauty, inspired by diverse conversations with architects and designers to create innovative commercial and residential acrylic surfacing. The styles include soft veining and movement that adds a sophisticated element to any interior space. The new collection’s six colors and patterns are: Clara, a serene white color; Marelinho, with soft touches of realistic veining twisting through a warm sand color; Nublado, with a drifting wavy pattern and light grey palette; Adosia, a silky grey base with soft, rippling notes; Moreno, featuring earth tones and flowing strata; and Grenicio, with a crisp, cool grey coloring and wispy veining. The surfaces are reportedly stain-resistant and nonporous, making them the ideal material for commercial applications.

Hanwha Launches the HanStone Quartz Marblesque Cascina Collection

Hanwha Hanstone Quartz Cascina CollectionHanStone Quartz launched its new Cascina Collection, with four colors in a marble-inspired design. The collection includes the colors Classic Statue, Italian Waves, Serenity and Tranquillity. “The new colors warmly recall the natural world with touches, veining and rich undertones that are irresistibly classic,” according to the company.  The  patterns and colors in this marblesque series are described as “glossy, wispy and sophisticated,” and are suitable for any workspace, kitchen or bath. HanStone Quartz is easy to maintain, eco-friendly, stain resistant, durable, nonporous and heat-resistant, offering beauty tough enough to stand up to everyday life, with classic hues and movements, reports the company.

HanStone Quartz Expands Distribution in Southeastern United States

Hanwha L&C Surfaces announced that HanStone Quartz will partner with Houston, Texas-based distributor, Avanti Stones. The partnership with Avanti enables HanStone Quartz to market and distribute its quartz surfaces throughout Texas and neighboring markets. With the addition of Avanti Stones, HanStone Quartz has more than 40 distribution branches throughout the United States and Canada. Avanti obtains a wide variety of stones from all over the world and carries all levels in 2 and 3 cm., in classic and exotic colors.

Hanwha Surfaces Expands, Selects Key Regions for Growth

hanhwaHanwha Surfaces, manufacturers of Hanex Solid Surface and Hanstone Quartz, is opening a new Philadelphia showroom and distribution center for both of these products this month. The 40,000 sq. ft. facility will be the focal point of the Mid-Atlantic region for the company. ‘s This is a showroom and distribution center for the Mid-Atlantic region. Additionally, before the end of 2015 a corporate location will be selected in the Atlanta area with 50,000 to 60,000 sq. ft. to serve as the Southeastern distribution hub for both products. The company is also working on figuring out a location in California to open a bigger warehouse this year.

Hanwha Expands Capabilities, Launches 12 New Solid Surface, 13 Quartz Colors

hanwha new colorsHanwha L&C Surfaces created vibrant veining patterns in its Hanstone quartz and Hanex solid surface product lines. HanStone has dedicated efforts to a proprietary veining innovation. In addition, Hanex has expanded with a fourth production line and is now able to create in tandem, veining patterns in its solid surface line.

HanStone has 13 new colors that showcase value, pattern and translucency. The Capital Collection is designed to appeal to budget conscious projects, the Movimento Collection draws on the look of a natural design, and Anejo is a translucent product – with or without backlighting. The company also launched  the 12 new Hanex colors and patterns. It features newly created veined patterns with variations of veining and color; creating a layered depth to countertop design.

Hanwha Launches 3 New Colors of HanStone Quartz Surfacing

Hanwha Serenity HanstoneHanwha L&C Surfaces launched  three new colors of Hanstone quartz surfacing. The  new colors are designed to have a stone-like appearance, according to the company. These new colors are  are: Fresco, which is a white color with light and translucent particulate; Harmony, with brown, white and grey veining; and Serenity (pictured here), which has creamy background tones of limestone with a umber vein indicative of marble.

Hanwha Launches 15 New Hanex Solid Surface Colors

Hanwha L&C Surfaces has launched 15 new colors of Hanex solid surface. These color additions come on the back of an expansion of the company’s solid surface plant to include a fourth production line. The intention and focus of the new designs, according to the company, are to offer a strong base of neutral colors tailored to meet the needs of all spaces from healthcare to hospitality. The new colors debuted at the Hospitality Design Expo last month in Las Vegas. The colors included in the launch are: Beige Breeze, Brown Fever, Yuri Grey, Ginger Bread, Ricecookie, Coldstone, Terrono, Montes, Merino Grey, Piedmont, Florida Beach, Jewel Beach (pictured here), Wild Safari, Copper Black and Wild Fire.
