OSHA Updates FAQs and Videos for Silica in Construction

OSHA has released new answers to frequently asked questions (FAQs) and training videos pertaining to the new standard for controlling respirable crystalline silica in the construction industry. All silica standard information, FAQs and training videos are now available online via the following the links:

The new FAQs were produced in cooperation with industry and labor organizations to provide both employers and workers with information about the requirements of OSHA’s silica standard.

In addition to the FAQs, six new videos are now available to provide examples on how to control silica dust during common construction events and with specific construction equipment, including handheld power saws, jackhammers, drills and grinders.

Several other resources for the construction industry regarding silica are also available, such as links, publications, references, NIOSH controls, respiratory protection and more.
