Lapitec Wins German Design Award 2018

Lapitec’s six Arabescati in the Lux, Satin and Lithos finishes have been awarded the 2018 German Design Award in the Kitchen Countertops category.

The German Design Award is one of the most coveted international prizes. The event has grown steadily since its first year, receiving ever higher levels of attention from industry professionals and the general public. The German Design Council makes a point of selecting products and companies that deliver high levels of quality in the design field.

The German Design Award recognition confirms the growing level of appreciation for Lapitec. The kitchen countertops category is one of the most prestigious areas of application of full-body sintered stone, and the importance of the sector is confirmed by the top names in the field of kitchen furniture that have chosen Lapitec. These include Pedini Cucine, which uses full-body sintered stone in the Lux, Satin and Vesuvio finishes for the kitchen countertops and side walls of its Arts & Crafts series.

In a separate application, Valcucine worked with Lapitec to develop Carbontec by Lapitec, an exclusive collection that utilizes a carbon micro woven roving to allow the use of reduced thickness countertops and more slender profiles. Maistri Cucine, on the other hand, opted for Lapitec for its Giza kitchen: a dynamic alternation of Bianco Crema and Ebano, in the Satin finish for its countertops , cabinets and drawer panels. Minotticucine aslo chose Lapitec to create kitchens that combine natural stone and sintered stone in novel ways. And these brands are joined by three more major companies that have chosen to work with full-body sintered stone: Scavolini, Effeti, and PoggenPohl. In fact, to date 2017 has proven to be a particularly significant year for Lapitec, having seen the consolidation of several strategic partnerships including Arredo3, Arrital, Lube and Brummel.
